Hotel Brighton Comments

  1. Unpleasant Front Desk (Originally reviewed on 25 October 2010)

WIlfried at the Front Desk was consistently unfriendly and unhelpful, bordering on rudeness. It would be hard to get his attention at the Reception, he tried to ignore me even when I was standing directly in front of him. In the Hotel guest computer an attachment to an email wouldnt open. He said they had just got an Apple and he didnt know how to work it. The faxes I asked him to send all got torn. The incoming faxes were illegible but the Hotel wouldnt do anyhting about it. In my booking request in the comments there was a request for a late check out at 4 pmas my flight was only at 630pm. Other staff at the Reception said they would try and accommodate and even if I could not stay on in the suite, they would try and put me in another room after 12. The next day another staff member confirmed that at least 1 PM was OK. But Wilfried unfortunately was there on the day of the check out and insisted on 12 noon. “The maximum I can give you is 12 noon” he emphasised. There was tension in the air. I got the clear feeling that if I made it 10 past 12, he would try to charge me another day. As a great favour he said ” you can keep your luggage” which is a standard practice of Hotels.Jean Luc of the Bell Desk would not even acknowledge when I asked him in French to keep the luggage till the taxi came later for the airport. SOme other staff members were nice but that the Hotel management tolerates this kind of behaviour towards a guest speaks for the quality of service at the Hotel. I have stayed in 2 other Hotels of the same group – EspritdeFrance- Hotel des Saint Peres and Hotel Parc Saint Severin. BOth were excellent albeit classed as 3 star. Thats why I thought this would be even better. I dont know what facilities it has to qualify for 4 star, which it doesnt deserve

  2. Very nice hotel, friendly staff, excellent views, would recommend!! 🙂

  3. The front desk should reflect on what working in the hospitality business means…
