We had a lovely stay at the Mondrian! We purchased our stay through fever in order to watch the beautiful candlelight Vivaldi live concert! We were blown away by the performance, the attentiveness of hotel staff and by the beautiful facilities and balcony room! We absolutely enjoyed our stay and look forward to coming back to check out other concerts and events they offer in the future! I ???? recommend this place!
We got to New York and wanted to explore the city so we go to drop off our bags. We asked if our room was ready early by chance, they said not yet but the room would definitely be ready by 3. Which we thought was weird considering our email told us 2. So, I call at 2 and ask again. That’s when they inform me that “there must be a glitch in the system that it says check-in is at 2.” We got to the hotel at 3 and the room is NOT vacuumed, which was disgusting. The next morning, our email said check-out was at 2 but we were going to ask for a later check-out. To confirm, we call front-desk and the guy checked that our check-out was at 2. So, we go down to the lobby and the lady tells us check-out is at noon and it must be a glitch in the system that it says 2. Sadly disappointed.
Beware beware… all of their staff appear to be new and inexperienced. They only have one house keeper at the time for the entire hotel, which means your room will not be cleaned, and any items you need will be extremely delayed in reaching you and will be inaccurate when delivered. The rooms are extremely small and compact. The beat part of the hotel was the rooftop terrace with a great bar and service at the bar.
Also, be aware of the FALSELY ADVERTISED conference room and club as both areas are closed. If you are planning a work staycation or business trip i do not suggest this hotel. There are no quiet spaces even in the hotel room. The hotel staff suggests using the terrace to attend to business during the day but the space is filled with people on their phone loudly handling business.
Throughout the night it sounded like there was construction being done somewhere with a constant sound.
The best deal is the free breakfast at the restaurant blank state around the corner.
