Nice decor, close to Basilica San Marco and the Piazza. Lots of good restaurants nearby and shops in the surrounding alleyways. Close to vaporetto stops giving easy access around the island. Have stayed in Hotel Antico Panada on5 occasions for a week or longer.
Excellent service, good size rooms, close to everything. Highly recommend!

Our experience at this hotel was terrible. We started to plan our trip around Italy on March 2021. When our trip planing came to Venice we faced the problem – where to stay. There was not so many options to choose from (maybe because of the pandemic) so we decided to stay in Antico Panada as location was perfect for us. A few days before our trip to Venice I decided to read the reviews and some of them was good some of them not so I didn’t knew what to expect. Now I will explain everything about our stay at this hotel.
First of all, when we just came we were welcomed by receptionist. He started to check us in and then the phone called. He speaks about 5 minutes on the phone while we were standing and waiting after a long trip. While waiting I noticed that there is a lot of mosquitoes in the reception and thought “hope we won’t find them in our room:)”. So after call the receptionist even didn’t apologise.
When we came to our room we were disappointed. On the photos that this hotel provides on the booking every room looks great, light and big. Our triple room was small and dark. And sure, there was a lot of mosquitoes:(
Next problem – the shower. The water stream at this shower was terrible. It was impossible to wash off the shampoo from the hair! It was really uncomfortable. Also a problem were towels. They smell like vinegar and it was terrible!
The hairdryer at our room wasn’t working.
The WiFi at our room was terrible it was impossible to use it, also we even can’t use 4G because there was no signal in our room.
The beds were uncomfortable, my boyfriend had the pain in his back next day. Also at the night all of us were bitten by mosquitoes (windows were closed all the time), I guess they are coming from the ventilation. The air conditioner at this room was ok.
Another big problem – breakfast. It was absolutely poor. We got chocolate like nutella, butter, some jam or something like that, two croissants, bread, fruit juice and coffee. That’s all. I have never saw the breakfast like that in my life.
The only good thing about this hotel is it location and that’s all.
I wrote a big review but I hope it will help you. I really really don’t recommend this hotel. There is a lot of old bad reviews, for example about breakfast, but they don’t do anything to improve it and this is so sad.
